Military junta: We need the aid, not expertise

Myanmar's military junta announced on Friday it needs international aid to help cope with a growing humanitarian crisis, but it does not need foreign aid workers. Right now, no relief workers have been granted visas to enter the Asian country. (May 9)

Misery of Myanmar storm survivors

Survivors of Cyclone Nargis wait for aid a week after the massive storm that hit Myanmar. The United Nations says 1.5 million people have been severely affected by the storm and the massive tidal surge it whipped up. Latest estimates put the death toll at up to 100, 000.
