Exorcism sought by drug user E-mail
Thursday, 24 April 2008
By MICHAEL SOUZA

NARRAGANSETT – It’s not unusual for town police to provide medical assistance or patrol for traffic violations.
In some instances, however, what they encounter is so strange that it’s almost beyond description.
This is one of those instances.
On Sunday before 7 a.m., police were called to St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church, when a priest phoned the station, saying there was a young white male asking him to “pull the devil out of his head.”

Officers responded and found the pair in the parking lot.  They noted the man’s pupils were constricted but there was no smell of alcohol.
They engaged in a discussion with the young man, who explained he needed the magnets taken out of his head and the glass taken out of his chest.
When police asked him to explain himself, he informed them he had been smoking crack cocaine all night with a friend.  When he fell asleep, his troubles really began.
He said that while he was in a deep slumber, someone cut open his head and inserted magnets into it in order to torture him. His chest was then cut open and a glass pipe inserted.
He also told authorities every time he closed his eyes, he could see the mechanical pieces in his chest working.
He also told police that the magnets had made his brain swell, which was causing fluids to leak out his rectum.
On hearing this tale, the officers handcuffed the man and transported him to South County Hospital for evaluation.
The man remained calm when transported and being evaluated, so officers left him in the care of hospital attendants. No charges were filed.
